Sarah Pavlik

Sarah has mastered the art of “lawless quilting”, as she says. Sounds wonderful, doesn't it? Look at her quilt. It is a poem of free form houses and trees; but though they are all a bit wonky, all are corralled into a common form for a meticulous finish. Sarah has found this to be the perfect place to use all sorts of leftover blocks, strips and threads. Let your creativity create something magical, too!

1 session/6 hrs./$56 (includes snack)
Debbie and I have had a blast making this mystery quilt! As usual, I have made it terrifically difficult because of my own choices. Debbi has made it a piece of cake…so guess whose path we're going to take? In fact, we'll cut your fabric so you can get right to work! The quilt will be a generous lap, and is easy to do-I promise! Quilting wenches will be on hand to assist with pressing and un-sewing!

Manly Potholders click for photo
Cherry Glazer
1 session/2 hrs. /$24
So, you think potholders are a girly thing? Think again! Here you are, at the very last minute on Father's Day, and you have no potholder for him to use at the grill, or any other cooking venue! Well, no wonder he leaves the stove duty up to you. Make potholders with Cherry that solve that little problem. (Cherry can solve most any of life's problems, but don't get her started….stick with the potholders!)
Sun., June 15....2-4 pm

Pastel Basket Weave click for photo

Modern Rail Fence
Lauren Kingsland

click for photo
Andrew McLaughlin
1 session/3 hrs./$29
Andrew has mastered this new offering from Atkinson Designs. You DO need a teacher, but the curves are easy and Andrew is a great teacher. Sun., June 29....1-4 pm

The Art of Flower Pounding click for photo
Maria O'Haver
1 session/3 hrs./$27
Flower pounding is such fun and so surprising! You can never predict what color the petals will dye the fabric, how much fluid they will release, and how representative the image will be. This is more an exercise in exploration than creation of a finished project (though that is possible) because you will want to try so many fabric/flower combinations to discover your favorite.
Mon., June 30....10 am-1 pm

KIDS' Classes

For kids 8 and older, we have two fun experiences to bring you for the early days of summer.  We will be making a sewn placemat for either the child or his/her pet (it’s covered with iron-on vinyl); and our second project will be making a bouquet on fabric of pounded flowers, leaves and grasses.  Both projects are loads of fun, and can be adjusted in difficulty to fit the experience of the child.  Our teacher will be Maria O’Haver, mother, artist and lion tamer. (Well…, perhaps we exaggerate just a bit.)

The cost of each session (including supplies) is $29.

Sign up early.

A) Tues., June 17....1-3 pm Placemat

B) Wed., July 9....1-3 pm Placemat

C) Tues., July 15....1-3 pm Flower Pounding

D) Wed., August 6....1-3 pm Flower Pounding
