Paint Stick Highlighting

If you’re not in the mood for a big quilt right now, how about learning a new technique that can enhance your current skills?  Using a stencil brush and a paint stick you will  stencil around the edges of a freezer paper pattern to create the shadows that outline the design.  Once the paint is dry and fixed, you can quilt the original design using free motion, or it could just be painted fabric. No sewing machines used in class, only painting.

Alison is eager to teach you the “Quilt as you go” method of construction on these lovely placemats.  Not only are they easy, when you’ve finished sewing the pieces, you will have done all the quilting as well.  Efficient!
