Sat., July 18....10:30 am - 12:30 pm   Circular Tablecloth    Susan McLaughlin 1 session/2 hrs./$25 There a three tricks to making a successful (large) round tablecloth.  It’s very gratifying to create a table covering with no center seam, which hangs nicely.  The technique works equally well for picnic, dining, or boudoir tables—in fact, this circular cover could easily make a tree skirt too! The end product is insulated for cool summer drinks; even better, it’s festooned with merry yo-yos for easy identification. Cherry teaches two methods of yo-yo making.  You’ll love this project! Wed., July 22.... 2-4 pm     Sudoku Puzzle Quilt     photo Maria Ourmanova 2 sessions/2 hrs. ea. /$29 (includes pattern) To puzzle bumpkins, this appears to be varied watercolor 9-patches.  Have fun using nine different fabrics only once per row or column in this quilt.  If the solution strains your patience, Maria has worked it out on the computer and will give you the answer as well as the pattern! Thurs., July 23, 30....7-9 pm   Make and Use Your Own  Bias Binding    Joyce Hockman 1 session/ 2 hrs./$24 There are many uses for bias binding, and it’s EASY to make. Let it be the finishing touch on curved edges, with plaids and stripes, for bibs, pockets, and appliquéd stems. Joyce demystifies the process, and will make you ready to bind everything! Sat., July 25.....2-4 pm     Hawaiian Appliqué      photo Annette Burns 1 session/4 hrs./$39 Hawaiian appliqué is lovely, a classic homage to elements of nature.  It looks difficult, but Annette will show you that it is not, for she makes the learning process both fun and memorable, involving all the senses.  I leave this to your imagination, but graduates of previous sessions are ready for another island experience at the drop of a plumeria blossom! Sat., Sept. 26....1-3 pm     Convergence Quilt    photo Maria O’Haver 1 session/3 hrs. /$24 Convergence is a study in color and intensity.  Using simple cutting and piecing techniques, you will make a striking art quilt by gradually blending colors from divergent corners of the quilt.  It’s fun, and a little surprising.
