Capital Quilts Complete Course

This is the ultimate quilt course! Annette will teach you everything you need to know about quiltmaking, from fabric selection to cutting, piecing, pressing, appliqué, set-ins, paper piecing, and so much more. Three Easy Bibs

Make Friends With Your Serger

3-D Bow Tie Quilt  ½

This is the EASIEST bow tie block going, though you wouldn't think so, as you look at the complicated-appearing center folds. With a few minutes practice, you can make each block in about five minutes. Really! Make them small for baby projects, bigger for larger quilts. Consider old ties for a vintage or memorial quilt. The possibilities are endless!

This quilt gives a marvelous 3-D effect, and it is done through the careful use of dark, medium and light color values. There are NO inset seams, it's all done with strips. This would make an excellent quilt for a special guy or a modern couple.

Paint Stick Highlighting  Maria O’Haver

If you’re not in the mood for a big quilt right now, how about learning a new technique that can enhance your current skills? Using a stencil brush and a paint stick you will stencil around the edges of a freezer paper pattern to create the shadows that outline the design. Once the paint is dry and fixed, you can quilt the original design using free motion, or it could just be painted fabric. No sewing machines used in class, only painting.
