More Free Projects Patriotic Table Runner Fabric required: Blue - 1/4 yard Red - 1/3 yard White - 1/2 yard Border, backing and binding - 13/4 yards multi color print Directions: Make four 12" (finished) blocks of Swamp Angel (click for instructions), or a 12" block of your choice.

Step 1. Cut:

13- 2 ¹/₂" x 12 ¹/₂ " white rectangles (A)
10- 2 ¹/₂ " red squares (B)
2- 3 ¹/₂ " border strips the length of the piece (see step five)
2- 3 ¹/₂ " border strips the width of the piece

 

Step 2. Add one white rectangle A " to left side of all 4 blocks and also to the right of 1 block. Join blocks.

 

Step 3. Sew a red square (B) to eight white (A) rectangles. Sew a second red B square to the other end of two of the rectangles.

Step 4. Join 4 AB units into two rows. Attach to blocks.

Step 5. Measure length through middle. Cut from the multicolored print two 3 ¹/₂ " wide strips this length. Attach. Now measure width (including border) and cut two 3¹/₂" strips this length. Attach. Quilt as desired.

Step 6. For the binding, cut five 2 ¹/₄" strips of border fabric. Join, with mitered seam. Fold & press in half lengthwise. Attach. Ask for help if you are unsure of binding procedure.
