Second Saturday Club 2022 - Sedona (via Zoom) - Jun 11, 2022 09:00 am
For 2022, the Second Saturday Club will create blocks and quilts with the modern Sedona pattern, created by Sew Kind of Wonderful and using the Mini Quick Curve Ruler. The pattern provides instructions for 11 different blocks that can be assembled in at least 4 different sizes of projects, ranging from a fairly simple table runner to a challenging, asymmetric queen-size quilt.
Each month, group members will create blocks from one or two designs in the Sedona pattern. Later in the year, they will assemble the blocks in the quilt design of their choice. Every quilt will be a unique representation of each quilter?s individual vision. Along the way, we?ll talk about color, piecing techniques, and arranging completed blocks in a satisfying pattern.
The Sedona blocks are approachable for confident beginners, while intermediate and advanced quilters will enjoy experimenting with different layouts and color arrangements. About half the blocks have curves, and most of the blocks are made slightly oversized and trimmed down. Sedona quilts look great in monochrome or three-color palettes, but the blocks work well with many other options: solids, batiks, blenders, scrappy.
Class format: The Second Saturday Club meets on the second Saturday of every month; in 2022, the club will meet via Zoom. Meetings include a review of the previous month?s blocks; discussion of the current month?s blocks; a skills session; show-and-tell so members can show off their finished projects; and breakout groups.
Cost: $ 65.00 - $ 95.00
