Settle into your favorite sewing space with your favorite Zoom-compatible technology for up to two hours of stitching and chatting. Ruler Work for Domestic Machines

Quilting with rulers is a wonderful way to add curved designs to your quilting repertoire. Bored with your walking foot and intimidated by full-on free motion quilting? Ruler work is an ideal compromise to create precise yet interesting stitching on your quilts. In this 5-week class, you will make a 9-block sampler of ruler work designs. The class will cover setting up your machine for ruler work, testing tension, and getting started. Each week you'll make one or two blocks with practice fabric during class; between each class you will reproduce the blocks with your sampler fabric. At the end, you?ll learn a quilt-as-you-go method for joining the blocks together.

This class introduces you to Pro-Stitcher, an intuitive computer-guided quilting system that is user-friendly and simple to operate. Students will learn the basics of completing an edge-to-edge design on their own quilting projects. Completion of this class is required before you will be allowed to rent time on the shop's Amara or Moxie. Students are welcome to download the Pro-Stitcher simulation software on their own Microsoft-enabled laptops to bring to class. This is not required. Must already have taken the Getting Started on Long Arm class before registering for this. The ProStitcher Premium Simulator is not currently supported on Apple / MAC systems so you must have access to a current Windows based computer.

For everyone's safety, all items must be packaged/wrapped securely with rubber bands or packing tape securing the item in a towel, pillowcase, padded envelope, or box. Attach your name, address, phone number, and cash or check payable to Rod's Sharpening Service. Items will be available for pickup the day AFTER the sharpening day.
