Learn to Sew: The Basics

So you’d like to learn how to sew, but where to begin?  We can help you with that!  In this class, get to know your sewing machine: how it works, its parts, how to thread it, how to wind the bobbin.  Learn about fabric: selvedges, straight of grain, right and wrong side, how to pin it.  Practice  sewing a straight seam and a curved seam.  Learn how to press your seam.  Find out how to “unsew” with your seam ripper.  Make a pillowcase to take home with you!
