CQ Complete Course of Quilting

This quilting course teaches everything you need to know to start making your own quilts. This course covers the basics: getting to know your sewing machine, rotary cutting, fabric selection, and a variety of techniques for machine-piecing quilt blocks. You make a sampler quilt and learn to sandwich, quilt, and bind your masterpiece. This is the perfect opportunity to explore the quilter’s art, which is both ancient and modern!

Finished size of sampler quilt:  40 in. x 50.5 in.

Know before you sign up: The course includes 10 group classes, one private session with the instructor, and the textbook. The instruction is very much hands-on. You must have a sewing machine in good working order that you can bring to class each week. If your machine has not been serviced in the past year, please have it cleaned and oiled. Capital Quilts' machine technicians can clean and oil most brands of sewing machines. Allow two to three weeks for servicing.

This session of the Complete Course meets in-person in the classroom at Capital Quilts. If you would prefer to take the class on Zoom, click here.

Classroom sewing machines are available for rental during a class.  There is a $10 fee per class session.  Quantities are limited, so please ask to reserve a machine as soon as possible.  Plan to come to the shop early on the day of class so that we can show you how to thread and operate the machine.
