I love this quilt in black and white, but I've also seen it done in bright novelty prints as well, and that looked great. Kaffe Fassett prints perhaps? Your choice of the thin contrast strips is key: brights for the black and white quilt and strongly contrasting colors if you decide to make a multi-colored quilt.
