Mod Dog or Mod Cat

These quilts are a combination of machine piecing and applique. The wonderful dogs or cats are improvisationally pieced using a jelly roll, and the scrappy border is just fun! You can work on either pattern in this class. NOTE: One pattern does not include both dogs and cats – there are 2 separate patterns.

During the first part of this class, we will begin constructing the border units (see Pre-class preparation below). In the second part of class, we’ll create a panel with the 2 ½” strips using improv piecing, trace the dog (cat) pattern and fuse it onto that panel. Then we’ll see a demo of the applique and talk about finishing the quilt.
