What's New At CQ 03/31/16
Dear friends,
The jetlag is gone and I am well and truly back. If last week’s newsletter seemed a bit rough, blame the jetlag!! The staff did a great job in my absence. In fact, I am sort of thinking I am not needed around here! I’ll just go and play somewhere else….
No, just kidding. The trip was great, and I loved visiting with my daughter and her husband. She has been considering a job in Singapore. I told her it was okay by me, I’ve seen all of New Zealand now, it’s time for her to move on. I did suggest that Canada was closer to home. I don’t think she bought it.
Everyone's "Snowy Day Challenge" quilts were wonderful! Customers seemed to like wandering through the "hallway gallery" and casting their votes. Congratulations to Nancy (small) and Viveca (large) on their wins!
A new month is nearly upon us. Have you signed up for Rae Cumbie’s Fit for Art Trunk Show on Saturday, April 9 at 3:30? She’ll be displaying many jackets and tops and talking about the business she and Carrie Emerson run. Garment sewing is coming back in vogue, and Rae has some of the most beautiful patterns out there. She will be teaching a jacket class on April 18 and 19 here at the shop. The trunk show is FREE. The class is $155 and includes the pattern. You can register for the trunk show, the class, or both either in-store or online.
We are also looking forward to having Cyndi Hershey, Director of Marketing for Quilting Treasures, with us on Saturday, April 16 at 1pm for a Trunk Show of Ink & Arrow fabrics. Ink & Arrow is Cyndi’s brainstorm. Find out how the idea got from her head to fabric on your cutting table! She will have lots of models to show you. This is also a FREE event, but please register so we'll know to expect you.
Annette is contemplating offering a certification class for the HQ Simply Sixteen. Taking this class will allow you to rent Handi Quilter’s newest machine to finish your quilts, the stand up 16” machine that is right inside the front door of the shop. The class will probably be about 2 hours long and cost $20 or $25. If you are interested, either for now or later, kindly reply to this email or contact Annette or the shop. I’d like to know if this is a class that our customers are interested in taking. You can quilt any size quilt on it, even pot holders. There is no computer attached; all work will be free motion. If you’d like to buy one, the MSRP is $5995, or I will sell my floor model for $5,095.75, a savings of $1,125 including shipping.
The new quarter of classes begins on Friday, April 1st. Be sure to check out the new class listing. See it on our website, or pick up a listing at the shop.
I hope to see you soon!
Go ‘n’ piece,
Alison Zacharkiw
