All of the clubs we had in 2018 will continue to meet in 2019, with a couple of additions. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the clubs and what happens in a club meeting, we invite you to attend a regular club meeting at no charge in December. Here are the dates and times:
Dec. 1: Longarm Club meets 10-12. ProStitcher Club meets 12:30-2:30. Dec. 2: Let’s Get Dressed Club meets 2:30-4:30. Dec. 8: 2nd Saturday Club meets 9-10:30. Wool & Hand Embroidery Club meets 12-2. Dec. 9: EPP (English Paper Piecing) Club meets 12-2. Art & Stitch Club meets 12:30-2:30. Dec. 10: The Hand Piecers meet from 1-3. Dec. 11: Improv Club meets 6:30-8:30. Dec. 15: Janome Club meets from 10:30-12:30. Dec. 22: AccuQuilt Club meets from 10:30-12:30.
The two new clubs are 1st Saturday Club and AccuQuilt GO! Club. Please visit the 2nd Saturday Club meeting on the 8th to learn more about the 1st Saturday Club; the meetings will be very similar, but focusing on a different project. The GO! Club will meet on the 4th Sunday of each month in 2019, from 1-3. Because that is so close to this Christmas, we are going to have a “demo” meeting on Sunday, January 6, at 1. Liz will talk about the club and do a little demo to give you an idea of what the club will be like. She is also open to your ideas of what you’d like to do during club meetings!
I hope you’ll come to one or more of the club meetings. Clubs are lots of fun, and you will make new friends while you are learning new techniques and sharing tips, tricks, and projects. They meet once a month and are reasonably priced at just $65 for the entire year.
Did you know Capital Quilts carries Presencia cotton embroidery floss? Look for it in the Wool Department (that’s not as crazy as it sounds; folks who play with wool love to embroider!).
And did you know that AccuQuilt has a quilt-planning program you can use from their website? It’s called GO! Quilt! It leads you through planning your project, then tells you what dies you need to make the quilt, how much yardage you need, and instructions for both cutting and assembling the quilt. You can even register the dies you own, so that the program knows what you have and what you need to buy to make the quilt. The program sends you to the AccuQuilt online shop to make any purchases, but I, of course, hope that you will make your purchase here at Capital Quilts!
Go ‘n’ piece, Alison
SHOP SPECIAL: Christmas and Hannukah fabrics are on sale at a 20% discount until December 29.
