Dear Fabricologist Friends,

Thank you to the Quilters Unlimited Guild for inviting us to vend at their wonderful show last weekend! As always, the quilts were gorgeous and the vendors plentiful. I found myself particularly drawn to the Baltimore Album quilts this year. We enjoy this show every year and hope to be a part of it for many more.

This coming weekend, we are heading to Annapolis to the Annapolis Quilt Guild’s “Quilts by the Bay 2019” show, another show we enjoy vending at every year. Come see us at the Annapolis High School on Riva Ridge Road, Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 11-4. Don’t miss it!

Today is the 75th anniversary of D-Day.  We are grateful to our military servicemen and servicewomen who fought valiantly for the liberation of Europe and by doing do, preserved our liberties here in the US. Capital Quilts has a very active Quilts of Valor chapter that meets about once a month to make beautiful quilts to give to military veterans. On June 14, Flag Day, the chapter will present quilts to 2 of those veterans. We invite you to join us at 11:30am to celebrate the service of these veterans to support and protect the liberties we all enjoy.

Those of you who have joined the Aurifil Thread Club, don’t forget to bring your card to the shop in June to get your discount on your large spool of thread! Those of you who haven’t joined, what are you waiting for??

Did you know that some birds sew? Take a look at this post of a tailor bird on our Facebook page. It’s amazing!

It’s a great time to buy a new Janome sewing machine or serger. Pay what Capital Quilts employees pay; get the same discount they enjoy. Come talk to us about the Employee Pricing Event and test drive some machines!

We are currently looking for a part-time employee with flexible availability.  If working in a quilt shop sounds like a dream come true, please contact Alison directly by calling 301-527-0598.

Go ‘n’ piece,
Alison
