I think that is appropriate for the Quilters’ Quest Book Tour theme, don’t you? Prizes will be offered. There is a small $5 registration fee. Call or visit the shop to register to participate in this fun event!

Make a Rag Basket on Saturday, August 31 at 2:30pm!  Rag bowls have been made since the beginning of time, it seems. They have found some form of bowls that are wrapped into a coil in many archeological digs, that go back for centuries. In more recent history, rag bowls were made in Appalachia along with rag rugs that were known to hold up over time. Rag bowls are sturdy, versatile and fun to make. This class will provide instructions for making a small bowl and hopefully have you leaving with your bowl and all you need to make more.

Debra Ball will show you how to turn a favorite t-shirt into a keepsake for a special person. Learn how to stabilize the knit fabric, add a flanged border, and make an envelope-style pillow cover. The techniques taught in this class are the same ones used to make a T-Shirt quilt. T-shirt Pillow is being offered Wednesday, September 4 at 12:30.

The Vinyl Mesh Market Bag is great for taking to the grocery store, the beach, the gym, the stadium or any place where things may get a bit damp or grungy. It also makes a great diaper bag or book bag. It’s strong and almost indestructible. Besides that, it’s cute, can be thematic and is a clever use of mesh. Kathy Barden teaches, Thursday, September 5th at 10:15am.

Karen Fricke is teaching her popular Beaded Sampler class again, starting on Friday, September 6 at 2:30pm.  You can add interest and excitement to quilts, bags, clothing, buttons, and more. Make a 9-patch block (or purchase one from the instructor) and fill each piece with a different beaded stitch. You’ll go home with a sampler and printed directions for making each stitch. Your class kit includes beads, beading thread, beading needle, pages of instructions, and a metal ring to bind your booklet.
