Dear Sewcialites,
Quilters’ Quest 2019 is now in the history books. Thank you to all of you who participated! We enjoyed having you and hope that your journey was inspirational and fun.
We have a busy fall ahead of us. We will be vending at Everybody’s Quilt Guild Show November 1-3. They are having the show in a new location this year: Pleasant Valley Community Fire Hall, 2030 Pleasant Valley Road, Westminster, MD 21158. The show is open 12-6 on Friday, Saturday 10-5, and 10-4 on Sunday. See you there!
Local designer Heather Kojan is presenting a lecture/trunk show here on Saturday, Nov. 2, 12-1. Come hear her inspirational ideas on what to do with UFOs, the odd block, and that fabric you can’t believe you bought.
On Monday, Nov. 4, Heather is teaching a class here at the shop called “Five Easy Geeses”. She will show you five ways to make Flying Geese blocks and you will put your blocks together to make a quilt top. The class is from 11-3. Sign up here!
You are invited to Sip & Stitch! Join us on Thursday, November 7 from 6-8:30 to enjoy a glass of wine and light hors d’oeurves and make a Wine Bag. We’ll have kits ready for you to sew up. Bring your machine or use one of ours. We have room for 12 sewists. $45 includes wine, food, and a Wine Bag kit. Staff will be on hand to show you how to make the Wine Bag. The party is being catered by Botanero, a wine and small plates restaurant in Rockville.
