Dear Friends,
After much deliberation, and out of an abundance of caution, I have decided to close Capital Quilts to the general public until March 31st. Kat and I will continue to go to the shop to monitor email and answer the phone, to accept deliveries and the mail, and to process orders. I would also like to reassure you that, as of this writing, none of our staff has any known exposure to COVID-19, and we are all feeling well. We have been cleaning and disinfecting the shop several times a day, and will continue to do so throughout our closure to the public.
All classes are cancelled for the month of March. At the end of the month, we will reevaluate the situation and take it from there. We will give you store credit for the class fee. When we can reschedule the class, we will call you first to offer registration before we open the class to the general public.
Our online store is open for business! For those orders and for those of you awaiting special orders, Kat and I will process them as usual. You can now select “Store Pick-Up” as an option if you would prefer to come to the shop to get your goods rather than pay for shipping. When the order is ready, Kat or I will contact you to make arrangements to meet you curbside. For special orders, we will contact you to find out whether you want us to mail the item or meet you at the shop for pickup.
You can also place orders by email. If you are asking for a particular fabric, please send us a picture if you can. The more detail you can give us, the easier it will be for us to find what you want, be it needles, giant rolls of batting, and everything in between. Send your orders to sewit@capitalquilts.com.
We had a phone call from a customer this morning who wanted to purchase a gift card. She had seen online a suggestion to purchase restaurant gift cards for later use, and thought she would support her local quilt shop this way, too. While we don't offer online gift cards, we are happy to process this transaction for you over the phone. Just drop us an email with your phone number and amount of the gift card; we'll call you to process the transaction and mail out the card. We are not charging to mail gift cards during this temporary closure.
Capital Quilts will continue to support your quilting journey as best we can during this public health challenge. If you have a question about the project you are working on, give us a call and we’ll help you get it sorted. If we don’t know the answer, we’ll find someone who does. Send us pictures of your finished projects and we’ll share them on social media (if you are willing, of course; if you aren’t willing, send them anyway; Kat and I would love to see them!).
Thank you so much for being a Capital Quilts customer! I appreciate your support and your patronage. The staff and I look forward to seeing you when all this is behind us. Please, take extra care of yourself and your loved ones during this time. I wish you wellness and happiness.
Go ‘n’ piece,
Alison
