What's New at CQ 5/3/22

Dear Friends,

Things in the world are getting a little crazy again.  I hope that you can view Capital Quilts as your refuge. Come in, leave your troubles, politics, and the rest of the world at at the door, and submerge yourself in happiness, creativity, and fabric.  We are happy to chat with you and give you a break from everyday stress.

This week only (5/4/22-5/10/22), all Zen Chic Fabrics are on sale for 20% off!  This includes yardage jelly rolls, honey buns, FQ bundles, and kits!

Happy Sewing!

From Robin Pickens for Moda, we have Tulip Tango in FQ bundles, jelly rolls, charm packs, and yes, seven bolts of yardage. We're in love with this modern take on a traditional floral line.

We expect these Custom Crab Cakes panels to fly out of here!  Also available are the tossed crabs, and a couple of bundles we think coordinate nicely.

Sue Daly's Colour Wall collection for Riley Blake demonstrates her love of color!
The simplicity of the designs allowed her to be able to put them together in any combination to create happy, beautiful quilts.

Join fellow quilters on Friday, May 6, at 6:30 pm on Zoom for two hours of stitching, chatting, and listening to a guest speaker in Sew Together via Zoom. May’s guest is Linda Hunter, who enjoys the challenges of making postcard quilts, fabric gems that can be made and mailed. Tune in for inspiration to try this on your own.

Join Cathy on Saturday, May 14 at 1130am to make the Twirl-n-Spin Table Runner!
Your choice of fabrics lets it be seasonal or year-round.

Let Nancy guide you through how to hand quilt starting Sunday, May 15th!  You'll be able to work on small projects on-the-go, or add a special touch to a gift for someone.

Elizabeth makes the cutest needle books, and will share her secrets with you!
On Saturday, May 15, she will guide you to make a little improv cover, then add wool pages to help prevent rusted needles and pins. Limited kits are available.

There are only four spots left for the Adele Scott Zoom class. Learn some of the creative methods quilters have come up with to solve this problem. The right prep, products and techniques will get you quilting those larger quilts.  Adele will have you explore nine different techniques via Zoom on Saturday, June 25th.

CQ Cares (Community Sewing Projects)

We will also have kits available at the shop, please stop by to pick up one (or two). For those that want to sew from their stash, click on the picture for the beginner-friendly Charm Square Placemats pattern, or you can use your own pattern.

Please return all completed placemats to Capital Quilts.
Thank you for your continued support of the Capital Quilts Cares program.

We have free pillowcase kits available!  We donate all pillowcases to Ryan's Care for Smiles, who in turn distributes them to children battling serious illness.  Pick one up next time you're in the shop, then complete it and return on your schedule.

We also have free small kennel quilts available.  These little quilts are sent to shelters who take in pets displaced by natural disaster.  To quilters, they are a great beginner project, a use for leftover fabric, and a place to practice free motion skills.  To use your stash, visit
