What's New at CQ 9/17/24
The "I Got the Music in Me" Challenge quilts have been hung in the Gallery. They are absolutely fabulous! I am impressed by all the talent of our contributors. Try to guess the songs before you read the labels. Please come in to see them! The English Paper Piecing Club is having a demonstration on October 27th. English Paper Piecing, or EPP, is a method of patchwork where fabric is basted to paper shapes using thread or glue and the pieces are then stitched together, most commonly using a whip stitch. It is a precise method, allowing the quilter to create accurate shapes, whether simple or complex. The possibilities are endless! The nature of EPP lends itself to "portable projects" that you can take with you to work on almost anywhere. Please register as space is limited.

Join Mari for our Project Dress a Girl Sew-in on September 27! These dresses are given to girls living in poverty, both in the U.S. and around the world. A girl wearing new dress presents an appearance that she is well cared for and may discourage would-be predators. Since we attach a Dress a Girl label on the outside of each dress, it sends an additional message that each girl is under the care of an organization, giving her added protection from those who would harm her, predators or traffickers. You will need to register for this event, as our classroom space is limited. Bring your sewing machine in good working order and basic sewing supplies. Mari will walk you through making this dress, but with sleeves! |
