ps. Through the end of the year, every time you come into the shop and make a purchase, you can fill out a slip to be entered into a drawing to be held on January 2nd for a $75 Capital Quilts Gift Card. This card can be used towards anything in the store, including classes! This is in addition to our regular monthly Blue Bag drawing.

Products

Embark on a journey of patriotism with Documentaries, an exquisite fabric collection by Kanvas Studios for Benartex. Designed to pay homage to the timeless beauty of red, white, and blue, this collection captures the essence of patriotism in every stitch. The dark reds especially are truly amazing when seen in person.

And, a free pattern:

We have new ribbons! Ribbons are wonderful to use as embellishment on any sewing projects ! Great to make unique straps (stitching them on webbing) for all your bag creations.

From Robert Kaufmann, we have Calixta bundles with 11 fat quarters and a panel.

Set aside your quilt patterns and find freedom in the design process with Quilter's Inspiration Deck, a set of cards designed to prompt spontaneous, joyful creativity.

Quiltex is a new company for us, and I've brought in a few bolts I thought were interesting from the Canoe Routes line.

We have three new patterns from Canton Village Quiltworks. Zig in my Zag is a fun (& easy) paper pieced quilt that looks like diamonds at first, but has that secondary Zig Zag simply by a change in color. Colorguard has you making Half-Square Triangles (HSTs) and arranging them together with other like colors to create this Shoo Fly block that is super easy! The finished quilt gives you a happy rainbow! Finally, in Triangularity, careful placement of colors allows you to create these wonderful secondary triangles in this quilt simply with a play on color! Using the Creative Grids 60 degree Triangle ruler makes it a breeze!

Twilight Creatures by designer Natalia Juan Abello for Benartex is a beautiful collection with a panel that features curious foxes, sleepy deer, and flying owls, paired with lovely blue and green hues.

Classes

In 2025, the Second Saturday Club is going to explore color, technique and creativity. We will be making two projects this year:  Ode to Mary Blair, pattern by Corinne Sovey Design Studio and Vitamin Sea, pattern by Swirly Girls.  Both projects are suitable for the confident beginner.  The more advanced quilter will be able to challenge themselves by learning new techniques, pattern and size adjustment and playing with color.

Registration is OPEN!

Don't forget that since this class is held over ZOOM, you need not be local to the shop to participate!

Jan is teaching Wagon Wheel pattern by Denyse Schmidt Quilts. Wagon Wheel is a quilt that is timeless, quirky and graphic. The large scale of the blocks makes for a fast finish. Not only can you showcase your favorite prints, but it's also FQ friendly! NO CURVED PIECING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This class meets once a month for three months, starting January 15th.

Betsy is teaching her popular Walking Foot 101 class on 1/25. Put your walking foot to work and watch it travel miles and miles of stitching! Learn the basics of using your walking foot by making six sample blocks.

QUILT SHOW SCHEDULE

Finished for the year!

CQ Cares (Community Sewing Projects)

We have free pillowcase kits available! We donate all pillowcases to Ryan's Case for Smiles, who in turn distributes them to children battling serious illness. Pick one up next time you're in the shop, then complete it and return on your schedule. Alternately, use your stash and any of the Million Pillowcase Project patterns.

For those who want to sew placemats for Meals on Wheels and/or Iona House from their stash, click on the picture for the beginner-friendly Charm Square Placemats pattern, or you can use your own pattern. We also have free kits in the shop.

Please return all completed placemats to Capital Quilts.
Thank you for your continued support of the Capital Quilts Cares program.

We have free small kennel quilts kits available. These little quilts are sent to shelters who take in pets displaced by natural disaster. To quilters, they are a great beginner project, a use for leftover fabric, and a place to practice free motion skills. To use your stash, visit www.kennelquilts.com
