It looks like Christmas in July is here! See below for the first of this year's winter holiday fabrics. Most have free patterns to go with! The first week of the All Mid-Atlantic Shop Hop has been amazing! We are having an in-shop contest for hoppers; after your visit, simply post a picture on FaceBook or Instagram and tag us (@capitalquilts) for your chance to win in our weekly drawings. A note for those of you looking for the "Hopper on a Shelf" -- Do NOT post a picture of the hopper with the QR code visible, as that will make it possible for people to enter without actually being here and finding our Hopper. Also, remember to hydrate and have fun!
Happy Sewing! -Marianne
PS. We still have a few Shop Hop magazines. Get yours today! For complete details about the All Mid-Atlantic Shop Hop, visit their website at AllMidAtlanticShopHop.com Join their Facebook Group to see Shop Hopper experiences and learn more about the stores at FB: AllMidAtlanticShopHop

I have restocked inventory, and added new colors in our 1.5" cotton webbing department. There's something for everyone! |

Two lovely paintings by Abraham Hunter are the focus of P&B's Autumn Retreat collection. Cabin by the Stream and By the Lake are horizontal panels, each with unique, "sidelight" accents. Cabin by the Stream hosts stunning autumnal prints in a clean, vibrant color palette. By the Lake is a bit moodier with its evening setting with a rich, blue color scheme. The other fabrics in the collection pick up on details: water ripples, trees, leaves, and sky. ![]() Two unique and complimentary quilt patterns were created to support these gorgeous panels! |

Color Stories is a new blender from P&B, and we've brought in shades that work beautifully with Autumn Retreat.

More Christmas fabric from P&B! This is Joyful by Sara Berrenson. It is festive, fresh, and has all the elements you look for in a Christmas collection: a fabulous block panel, ornaments, pine branches, red berries, and more. All fabrics are accented with delicate touches of gold metallic ink. Which pattern will you make? |

We've gotten in two panels and three coordinates from Cabin Christmas by Mia Charo for Free Spirit Fabrics, where charming woodland creatures come alive in a warm cabin setting. |

Relax next Friday night (7/11) with fellow quilters for a virtual quilting bee. Settle into your favorite sewing space with your favorite Zoom-compatible technology for 2 hours of stitching and chatting. Everyone will have a chance to talk about what they’ve been working on and pose questions to the other quilters. Each month, a guest speaker shares her enthusiasm for an aspect of quilting – a designer, a technique, a hot topic -- with lots of inspiring ideas and photos. |
|
Our Quilts of Valor group meets on 7/14 to work on a quilt for a veteran touched by war. Please register for either the morning or the afternoon session, as space is limited. |
