Newsletter night is very often also Sandwiching night (You do know that we will baste your quilt for you, right?), and tonight Carol is working on a quilt that Michelle made, and we are blown away with her creativity! She adapted the "Dragon Dreams" pattern from Apples and Beavers, adding in the word Dream and a butterfly, both made with foundation piecing. And her use of fabrics! Those cherry blossoms with the trailing branches are an inspired choice, and all the other fabrics used to add texture and scales were incredibly impressive.
The recipient of this quilt will be thrilled, and NO ONE else in the world will have a quilt like it. What do you do to personalize patterns that you make quilts from?
Happy Sewing! -Marianne

Join Rae Cumbie, co author of Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets, for 2 inspiring days (November 1 & 2) in the Capital Quilts classroom as you choose a design, fit, fabric and all the details for your own quilted jacket or one to be given as a gift. Plan to spend the first day working on a mock up if you have not sewn with Fit for Art’s jacket patterns before. We will finish the day with a discussion of the jacket of your dreams and get right to it on day two. Whether you are sewing a kids or adult jacket or vest, you might not get finished, but you will be on your way to a fabulous quilted layer. We will wrap up the second day looking at seams and finishes to help you construct a great garment.
