Because it's been so hot, I've gathered a collection of winter holiday projects that you can work on to take your mind off the heat. We've got a whole bunch of fabric in that you can use, or shop your stash. Interested? Look for "Free Christmas Patterns" in the blue menu bar on our website. What a great way to stay comfortable indoors and work on beautiful things while thinking cool thoughts. Personally, I'm taking a bag class. I hope that I will gain skills to work on my Christmas gifts. Happy Sewing! -Marianne

On August 1st, relax with fellow quilters for a virtual quilting bee. Settle into your favorite sewing space with your favorite Zoom-compatible technology for 2 hours of stitching and chatting. Everyone will have a chance to talk about what they’ve been working on and pose questions to the other quilters. Each month, a guest speaker shares her enthusiasm for an aspect of quilting – a designer, a technique, a hot topic -- with lots of inspiring ideas and photos. |

Join Rae Cumbie, co-author of Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets, for 2 inspiring days (November 1 & 2) in the Capital Quilts classroom as you choose a design, fit, fabric and all the details for your own quilted jacket or one to be given as a gift. Plan to spend the first day working on a mock up if you have not sewn with Fit for Art’s jacket patterns before. We will finish the day with a discussion of the jacket of your dreams and get right to it on day two. We will wrap up the second day looking at seams and finishes to help you construct a great garment. |
