Products

Wilmington Fabrics has sent us Scarlet Dreams by Beth Grove. With a rich palette of deep reds, elegant blacks, and soft creams, this collection showcases intricate floral toiles, lush packed florals, and delicate floral tosses. A dramatic repeating stripe adds versatility, while tonal leaves and classic diagonal stripes bring movement and depth.

Blooming Day & Night by Jason Yenter for In the Beginning Fabrics is a collection of soft florals in a range of colors from a light sky blue to a dark maroon, and a fabulous border stripe on either a black or light background. We have both border stripes, and 2.5" strip rolls of the florals.

Put them together with this pattern to make a 56 1/2" x 64 1/2" quilt!

Introducing AlphaClips, the clips that help you stay organized. These 1" clips are engraved with letters A-Z and numbers 0-9, for a total of 36 clips. These are amazing for organizing pieces as you cut and piece. You will wonder how you ever lived without these sewing clips!

Just a sliver, please! The kaleidoscope block takes a spin on the table. Make the table runner or the set of four placemats with just 4 fat quarters and a background fabric.

The Fe-Line Frisky fabric collection by Anne Rowan for Wilmington Prints is a playful and charming celebration of feline companions, brought to life through whimsical designs and vibrant colors.

Classes

Jan is such a fun, encouraging instructor, and the Adventureland Quilt (pattern included with class fee) is a fast and easy strip piecing design, perfect for the confident beginner or a seasoned quilter that wants a quick baby/throw quilt to gift. The last session will focus on making the Scottie Dog pattern, provided for free by Denyse Schmidt Quilts. This three-session class starts on March 19th. Only two seats left!

Starting on April 20th, Kat will show you how fun and easy curves can be with Latifah Saafir's Glam Clam Pattern and Clammy Ruler.

The bucket hat is back on April 26th, and you have time to make a wardrobe of them before it gets truly hot. Linda will take you through making a reversible bucket hat. In class you will have the option to cut on your own or use the Accuquilt die.

Quilting with rulers is a wonderful way to add curved designs to your quilting repertoire. Bored with your walking foot and intimidated by full-on free motion quilting? Ruler work is an ideal compromise to create precise yet interesting stitching on your quilts using your domestic machine. In this 5-week class starting May 30th, you will make a 9-block sampler of ruler work designs.  At the end, you’ll learn a quilt-as-you-go method for joining the blocks together.

Don't forget that we offer Sandwiching Services (quilt basting) every month. Typically, four "appointments" are available each month.

We have free pillowcase kits available! We donate all pillowcases to Ryan's Case for Smiles, who in turn distributes them to children battling serious illness. Pick one up next time you're in the shop, then complete it and return on your schedule. Alternately, use your stash and any of the Million Pillowcase Project patterns.

We have placemat kits available at the shop; please stop by to pick up one (or two). For those who want to sew from their stash, click on the picture for the beginner-friendly Charm Square Placemats pattern, or you can use your own pattern.

Please return all completed placemats to Capital Quilts.
Thank you for your continued support of the Capital Quilts Cares program.

We have free small kennel quilts kits available. These little quilts are sent to shelters who take in pets displaced by natural disasters. To quilters, they are a great beginner project, a use for leftover fabric, and a place to practice free motion skills. To use your stash, visit www.kennelquilts.com
